New Year!

Hello everyone.
Well it has been an awful long time since our last post here at the B.R.C. We had a long break due to the B.S.E outbreak last year but I am happy to say no one was affected and we are all keen to get back into our work!
We have decided to make a few changes to the B.R.C. this year too, try to freshen things up a bit.
So this year as well as our normal re-enactments we will also be re-enacting our favourite TV shows! Great!
So the first show this year was everyone's favourite here - Monty python's flying circus! And what fun had by all!
I joined this show as Graham Chapman, along with Gee gee Bison as Michael Palin, Roger that Bison as John Cleese, Flying Vee Bison as Eric Idle, Roxy Bison as Terry Jones, Multitude Bison as Terry Gilliam, and Ultra violet Bison as Connie Booth.
Oh the laughs we had! The Gumby sketch was hilarious along with the Dead parrot, The world's funniest joke, Bicycle repairman, and many other classic Python sketches.
A most fun and entertaining evening!
Have a happy new year everyone!

Oswald and Ruby

Hello all, Jake Bison of the B.R.C. here.
Well, tonight we performed another J.F.K. related re-enactment.
As you may remember our very first performance was the re-enactment of President Kennedy's assasination.
Today we did the assasination of Lee Harvey Oswald, just as interesting and mysterious as the J.F.K. killing.
And like the J.F.K. assasination there are still many questions that are unable to be answered. Was Jack Ruby a mob member? How sinister was knowledge of Oswald and the Fair Play for Cuba Committee? Was his claim that he shot Oswald so that Jackie Kennedy would not have to return to Dallas to testify at a Lee Oswald murder trial sincere or fabricated by his attorney? Why did he insist on taking a lie detector test at the Warren commision and fail?
The photo on the left shows the critical moment when Ruby shot Oswald, a most gripping and horrifying moment in the re-enactment.
Involved in this re-enactment were: Cylon Bison as Oswald, Keyless Entry Bison as Ruby, and Yipsilon Bison, Wading Boots Bison, Jah Jah Bison, Indigo Blue Bison, Homer Bison, Jowls Bison, and Mitosis Bison.
A most fascinating and thought-provoking evening had by all!

Wedding!

Hello, Jake Bison here.
I have some exciting and happy news to announce.
Lululu Bison and Indigo blue Bison will marry this spring! These two members have been with us since day one of the B.R.C. and first performed together in our Hearts of Darkness re-enactment.
Both members are happy and enthusiastic actors and are well liked by all of the group.
They tell us that they will continue as members of the B.R.C. and hope to introduce a little herd to the club someday! Great!
So from myself, Jake Bison, and all of the other members of the Bison re-enactment club, we wish Lululu and Indigo blue Bison all of the very best in their new life together.
In other news, we performed a re-enactment of Michelangelo's painting of the Sistine chapel ceiling. As you may have guessed it was a one-Bison re-enactment with Hercules Bison performing the part of Michelangelo. And a fascinating re-enactment it was. In fact, for our club outing this year we are considering going to the Vatican to see the ceiling itself!
Won't that be exciting?!
That's all for now, have a great week everyone!

Nutcracker suite

Hello everybody, Jake Bison here.
This week we performed our rendition of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's 'The nutcracker suite'.
As you may have guessed we Bison are not built to perform ballet, but with a little Bison ingenuity I think we managed to pull it off.
And this is the first time we have had a live musical performance to a re-enactment.
Some of our multi-talented members are also orchestra players so they played the music while the members on stage danced.
It was a magical evening of song and dance and the dancers in their special Bison tutu's looked divine!
The dancing cast consisted of: Why not Bison, Blanc mange Bison, Buck Bison, Sowing seeds Bison, Steeley eyed Bison, Equatorial Guinea Bison, Teepee Bison, and Lowrider Bison.
The orchestra members were: Wave of Bison, Veloria Bison, Tilde Bison, V Bison, Perky Nose Bison, Mavis the elder Bison, Steaming Glory Bison, Roger Donaldson Bison, Jib Bison, Ullyses Bison, T.T. Bison, and Indigo Blue Bison.
An extremely physically demanding, but enchanting re-enactment!
Bye for now!

Happy new year!

Hello and Happy new year from the B.R.C.!
We here at the B.R.C. hope this year is a safe, happy and healthy one for all.
Over the New Year break our members enjoyed a well deserved holiday, but we are all back and have already performed our first re-enactment for the year.
It was a re-enactment of Charles Darwin's theories.
And most fascinating it was too! As members of the animal world, we Bison learned a lot from this human about our place in nature, so this re-enactment filled us with great pride to be Bisons!
Most of the credit for this re-enactment must go to Shining Beaker Bison who spent several days researching this re-enactment, and made it into a fine piece of thespian and educational entertainment.
So this year was started off with a fine re-enactment. We all here at the B.R.C. will strive to keep the quality of our work.
Have a good week won't you?!

Eraserhead

Hello, Jake Bison here.
Recently we performed another movie re-enactment, the spooky and strange movie by David Lynch: Eraserhead.
We decided to do this re-enactment true to David Lynch's original style so we used a lot of low lighting and had very long pauses of silence throughout the piece.
And I must say it turned out very well. The director for this re-enactment was Lulu Bison. She had some very good ideas and adapted the movie version well to live theater.
Lathe Bison was great as Henry Spencer, as was Heed me Bison as Mary X.
How the baby in the movie was made is a mystery, but I can tell you the baby we used was a chestburster model from the movie Alien that Tigger Bison owns...it was perfect!
Other cast members included Totem Bison, Cashew Bison, Up the ante Bison, X Bison, Hopkins Bison, Gundar Bison, Eric Eric Bison, and Subset Bison.
A fine re-enactment enjoyed by all.
On a sad note I must announce the departure of one of our members. Sliding Patty Bison, who has been a member since day one, is moving to warmer climes due to health problems.
We will miss you Sliding Patty Bison, your cheery mood always brought a smile to our day! And we loved your homemade Leek soup!
Sliding Patty Bison informs us that she will join another re-enactment club so maybe one day we will see her again at the national convention. Great!
Well, that's all for now, enjoy your week won't you?!

B.I.C.

Hi, Jake Bison of the B.R.C. here...back from Portugal!
As King Lear Bison told you in the last posting, I went to the Annual International Bovine Re-enactment club festival in Portugal.
It was great!
I met many interesting re-enactment club members from all over the globe and saw many fascinating re-enactments. I particularily enjoyed the Finnish re-enactment club's version of 'Joan of Arc' and the Argentinian re-enactment club's version of 'J. Mascis and his music'.
Great stuff that our club must aspire to!
When I returned the B.R.C. had already decided to not continue the Roman empire re-enactment as it was stifling our creative process, which was a good move.
So they had decided on 'The history of the B.I.C. pen' as the next re-enactment.
And a fine re-enactment it was! Certainly up to par with the re-enactments I had experienced in Portugal.
How glad I am to have joined such a worthwhile pursuit in life!
Our next re-enactment is at this point unknown but certainly will be exciting as ever.
Until then, have a great week won't you?!

Taxi driver

Hello, King Lear Bison of the B.R.C. here. Jake Bison was invited to the Annual International Bovine Re-enactment club festival in Portugal so I am standing in for him this week.
Nice to meet you!
As Jake said in his last post we were to do our next re-enactment about Voltaire, but after 1 rehearsal we lost interest so decided on our version of the great Martin Scorcese movie 'Taxi driver'.
This was not a big re-enactment but it was certainly as tense and demanding as the movie was.
Che Bison as Travis Bickle was outstanding. He prepared very well for the part, many a time I saw him standing in front of a mirror talking to himself!
Also fabulous was Wafer thin Bison as Betsy, and Polystyrene Bison as Iris. In fact the whole cast was top-notch as you would expect from the B.R.C!
The main players were: Che Bison as Travis Bickle, Wafer thin Bison as Betsy, Polystyrene Bison as Iris, Indigo Blue Bison as Senator Palantine, Breaker breaker Bison as Sport, and Yams and Taters Bison as Tom.
The photo to the left shows the assasination attempt on Senator Palantine, one of the many tense scenes in the re-enactment.
I am not sure what the next re-enactment is, we won't know for sure until Jake Bison arrives back from his exciting trip...possibly another in the Roman Empire series.
So until then, have a great day won't you!
